(Nylon, polypropylene (olefin), acrylic, polyester, wool, or cotton) Wool: Great durable and stain resistant natural fiber normal more expensive but a long lasting carpet choice. All natural carpets have their own specific cleaning system that is much different than cleaning synthetic carpeting. Nylon: Most of your carpet will be nylon fabric. Fairly easy to clean and in most cases affordable. Just about 65% of all carpets in commercial buildings will be made from nylon. Nylon carpets are durable, good tarn memory, have great twin resistance, protect against stains, and are made for high traffic areas. There are two different types of nylon carpets. Type 6 and 6.6 the difference is in the quality. Type 6.6 is made for high end manufactures like DuPont. normally it is dyed and woven better that the 6 with special characteristics is made more for 5 star hotels and high end executive. Type 6 is what you would normally encounter in most commercial buildings in the US. Still a very good carpet highly recommended but just not as well built as the 6.6. This type 6 is made for high traffic and medium to low cost budgets. Polypropylene: otherwise known as (Olefin) is a great value for the quality of carpet you are getting. The dye is added after the extraction of the fiber. Which makes it great for stain resistance, except for oil based solvents. Over all it cleans up very well and does not stain as much as other do. This carpet is great for the reason that if you were to drop bleach it will not discolor. Olefin would not be recommend for a busy walking areas such as schools or airports. Would work great in areas the are more like executive buildings that would like a very nice looking carpet but good value and low maintenance. |
Polyester: has some of the best coloration available to the carpet industry to date. It's very durable and stain resistant. The only thing is at the time the colors intend to crash with each other, and could be a little loud. Easy to maintain and great for carpet cleaning, beds moisture, and does not shed like other carpets do.
